Pepe’s Triumphant Return

Real Madrid’s Portugal international Pepe, who has been purging a 10-game disqualification, returned triumphantly yesterday to help the Merengues extend their winning streak to 5 games as they muscled aside newly promoted Tenerife 3:0. He is now 1st in the FTBL ranking of Portuguese defenders with a tally of 115.54 points, having pushed aside former leader, Chelsea's José Bosingwa (110.77 points).

Bosingwa lost the spot after Chelsea went down 3:1 at Wigan in a stunning upset in English Premier League action yesterday.

But Bosingwa could reclaim the leadership as early as in his next appearance, as he will have a plank of just 7.2 rating points to beat, while Pepe will have to clear a plank of 11.51 rating points.
