Competition is fierce at the very top of the FTBL world ranking of goalkeepers, with current leader Iker Casillas of Real Madrid (142.62 points) in real danger of losing the lead to Barcelona’s Víctor Valdés (121.8 points) over the coming weekend.
Casillas is only 3 rating points ahead of Valdés at the moment, but the Barcelona keeper seems better positioned, given he will have a plank of just 9 rating points to beat in his next appearance, against Casillas’s 14.60 points. But then again, Barcelona will come off against tougher opposition on the road against Valencia, while Madrid will host lowly Real Valladolid.
Chelsea’s Petr Cech, who is sandwiched between the two rival Spaniards with a tally of 124.25 points, will have an even tougher task when the Blues travel to Aston Villa: he will face a plank of 14.60 rating points to beat. To increase the pressure on Casillas, Cech will need Chelsea to win without conceding a single goal.
