Palmeiras’s midfielder Diego Souza has had a stint in European football, and judging by his current form, he appears ready for another try.
In the classic against Santos on October 4 he netted the first goal to level the score, helping his side to a spirited 3:1 away win. He did the same a bit earlier against Cruzeiro. Overall, Souza has scored 3 goals in his last four games.
This has reflected immediately on his overall FTBL rating: on October 6, he captured the 5th spot in the ranking of Brazilian midfielders with a tally of 102.76 points, and a week later he was called up for international duty with Brazil.
Today’s game against Flamengo could turn out to be the trickiest stumbling block on Souza’s path to the top: Palmeiras have fallen to Flamengo 3 times in their last four games. Beyond Flamengo, though, things appear a lot easier.
