Internazionale’s Brazilian left-back Maicon (pictured) was part of the team that routed 6th-ranked Genoa 5:0 in Serie A action last Saturday, seemingly putting an end to his recent slump in form.
Maicon had not been able to clear the 10-point bar in any of his prior games, either for Inter or Brazil. Maicon, one of the world’s most talented defenders who has topped our world ranking for quite lengthy intervals at times, managed to lose approximately 50 rating points in the last month and a half, a fit that sent him crashing out of all of our top charts.
Maicon scored one of the 5 goals against Genoa, earning 12.05 rating points on the FTBL system to take his overall rating to 98.69 points.
Maicon is now in 24th place in the FTBL world ranking of defenders, while back in the top tier of our rankings of Brazilian (in 4th position) and Serie A (in 3rd position) defenders.
