Bayern Munich skipper and Netherlands international Mark van Bommel is in such stellar form that he has captured the lead in the FTBL rankings of Dutch, Bundesliga, and club midfielders.
Van Bommel was still battling abysmal form approximately six months ago, before he finally re-captured his game, dramatically increasing his FTBL rating from a lowly 80 rating points to 140 points. In the past 5 months, van Bommel’s form has been such that his rating has rarely fallen below the 120-point mark, essentially hovering around 130 rating points.
Van Bommel currently has an overall rating of 127.58 rating points and is ranked 8th in the world among midfielders. To continue on such a course, the Dutchman will have to clear a plank of approximately 19 rating points in each of his nearest future games. But that seems quite daunting even for a player in such form as Bommel is at the moment. A further dramatic rise is therefore more unlikely. But it is just as unlikely van Bommel will easily cede any ground.
