Sevilla’s Sebastien Squillaci (pictured) was at the top of his game last night, producing an outstanding performance for a defender against German side Stuttgart in their Champions League group stage game last night: he cleared a daunting plank of more than 19 rating points in the FTBL system, a fit that would have been considered impossible by many top players.

The plank Squillaci faced would have been challenging even for a world-class striker, but not only did the Frenchman beat it, he also added a brace to top it all.

Squillaci is now in 9th place in the FTBL world ranking of defenders with an overall rating of 107.82 points. He is 3rd in our ranking of French defenders and 2nd in the FTBL ranking of La Liga defenders.
