Fiorentina’s talented Romanian forward Adrian Mutu reminded those who have forgotten about him that he remains a force to be counted with as he scored two of the Italians’ 4 goals in their Champions League group stage game against Hungarian side Debreceni VSC (4:3) to earn a whopping 30 rating points in the FTBL system.
Mutu now sits at the top of the FTBL ranking of Romanian forwards with a tally of 92.8 points. The field is now wide open before him: only his next game will present a challenge, as he will have a plank of 14.14 rating points to beat. He will have a combined plank of slightly over 5 rating points to beat in his following 3 games.
Taking that into consideration and the current form exhibited by Fiorentina, a dramatic rise in the ranking can be expected on the part of the Romanian international: he is well capable of adding 30 or more rating points to his current FTBL rating. Mutu should therefore be in the neighborhood of 125-130 rating points, which should allow him to claim a spot in the top chart of the Italian Serie A.
