Fulham’s Australian goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer (pictured) broke into the top tier of the FTBL ranking of Premier League keepers for the first time in his career after a dazzling display in the 1:1 draw against Italy’s AS Roma in the Europa League last night.
Schwarzer has conceded just 4 goals in his last five games and twice kept his slate clean, which has boosted his FTBL rating to 80.32 points, earning him the 3rd spot in our ranking of Premier League goalkeepers.
Schwarzer’s rise has something to do with the current situation in Liverpool’s defense, where José Reina (71.91 points) has dropped dramatically in the ranking due to the nervy display by the Reds. Reina, who has been a regular at the top of the FTBL world ranking of goalkeepers, has lost approximately 60 rating points in the last 3 months alone, sinking to 34th in the ranking.
