Shakhtar Donetsk goalkeeper Andriy Pyatov has achieved the quasi-impossible: his FTBL rating is as close as ever to the 100-point mark despite the fact that he plays in a Cat 2 league. For perspective, remember that only 6 goalkeepers have ratings beyond the 100-point mark at the moment.
But, as we have already mentioned, the Ukrainian league is Cat 2 in the FTBL system, so even if Shakhtar win and Pyatov keeps his slate clean today against FC Zakarpattia Uzhhorod in league action, he will still earn a meager 6.65 points. Pyatov remains 10 points from the coveted 100-point mark.
To clear that threshold, Pyatov will need a miracle by either scoring a penalty or simply a goal. His next chance will not come anytime soon: in his next games, he will have to “pay the price” for Ukraine’s recent victories over England and Andorra in World Cup qualifiers, in which he kept his slate clean.
