The FTBL world ranking of defenders could undergo some changes, especially at the top, after today's Liverpool vs. Manchester United matchup in the Premier League, with United defender Nemanja Vidic having a good chance of taking the top spot, but only provided Barcelona’s Carles Puyol (pictured), the current leader, slips against Real Saragoza tonight in La Liga.
Both players will have a similar plank of 14.60 rating points to beat tonight. Puyol, who currently has a tally of 128.99 points, is better placed to retain the leadership, considering United will be coming up against much tougher opposition in Liverpool. Vidic trails by a little less than 5 rating points, at 124.18 points.
