Wolfsburg’s Dzeko Loses Top Spot in World Ranking to Injured Ronaldo

The leadership in the FTBL world ranking reverted to Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo (pictured) after former leader Edin Dzeko of Wolfsburg yesterday failed to make an impression against Hertha Berlin in the Bundesliga. This has happened despite the fact that Ronaldo remains sidelined by injury.

Dzeko is unlikely to return to the top in the near future: he will face very high planks in his next few games, and yesterday’s game against bottom-placed Hertha suggested, if anything, that he is not in his best form: he dropped 13.36 rating points.

Ronaldo is expected to return to action in approximately 2 weeks. This could happen in the World Cup 2010 playoffs, where Portugal is to play Bosnian Herzegovina: the standoff between the two players will be interesting to watch.
