FC Basel’s Alexander Frei (pictured in the center) took the leadership in the FTBL ranking of Swiss strikers as he netted a double in the 5:4 win over FC Lucerne yesterday in the Swiss league. He boosted his overall FTBL rating to 139.01 points, pushing down FC Twente’s Blaise Nkufo (137.05 points), the former leader.

The game was full of drama, as Basel took the lead thrice, only for Lucerne to come back each time. Lucerne even took the lead 3 minutes from time, before Basel came back through Frei and Marco Streller netted the winner in the dying minutes.

Streller, who also had a double, now has an overall FTBL rating of 86.51 points and is 3rd in our ranking of Swiss strikers.
