AC Milan’s Alessandro Nesta stepped to the plate to lead the resurgent Rossonerri to a 2:1 away win over Chievo Verona with a last-minute double in the Serie A yesterday. The Italy international, who has been beset by injuries for way too long, is nearing the top tier of our ranking of Italian defenders after a long absence.
Nesta earned more than 30 rating points in the FTBL system for his effort, boosting his tally to 60.39 points.
The road game against always feisty Napoli on Wednesday will determine a great deal for Nesta: if Milan win again, the World Cup winner will be guaranteed a spot back in the elite. He will have a plank of less than a single rating point to beat.
