We made a prediction about FC Köln’s Lukas Podolski’s overall FTBL rating that has not come true: by October 17, the Germany international was instead 1 rating point beyond our prediction of 120 points.
Yet the overall trend in Podolski’s numbers has shown little change: he continues to vegetate at Köln. Two good matches with the German team could have helped somewhat improve things, but the succession of defeats and just one goal so far in the Bundesliga have cancelled these efforts.
With a striker of Podolski’s caliber in their ranks, Köln is still last by the number of goals scored in the league; 6 in 10 games. In such situations, the firing of the coach is usually a matter of when. It looks as if it is futile to expect a reversal in Podolski’s situation in the near future.
