Something’s happening to Wolfsburg’s prolific Bosnian striker Edin Dzeko: he has been unable to find the net in 4 games in a row. If this could be "explained" earlier as part of the overall “unproductive” game of the German champions, the argument no longer holds, since Wolfsburg scored 3 goals in the game against Mainz yesterday.
The Bosnian’s overall FTBL rating has dropped from approximately 230 to its current 178.74 points in just a month and a half. Dzeko has lost the #1 spot in the world ranking of strikers and is just a few points ahead of the #2 in the Bundesliga, Werder Bremen’s Claudio Pizarro (174.94 points).
Dzeko will face a daunting plank of 30 rating points to beat in the next game, against Turkey’s Besiktas J.K. in the Champions League. That means he will need a victory and at least 2 goals to advance. We do not believe Wolfsburg and their leader are capable of that. Our prediction is that Dzeko’s overall FTBL rating will drop to at least 170 points after the game against the Turks, and this might even bee a very optimistic forecast.
