Manchester United star Wayne Rooney seems to be struggling to shore up his position in the FTBL ranking. After improving slightly following the Red Devils’ 2:0 win over Blackburn Rovers in the Premier League recently, Rooney’s FTBL rating has once again fallen bellow the 150-point mark as a result of the 3:3 draw against CSKA Moscow in the Champions League yesterday.
Yet the stats seem to indicate the England international has nothing to worry about; his overall FTBL rating was even lower at this same juncture last season (at around 130 points), but by mid-December he had climbed beyond the 200-point mark. Two years prior to that, he was in a similar position.
The schedule seems to bear out our optimism: after the difficult game against Chelsea this coming weekend, United’s opponents will be not among the strongest in the Premier League. As concerns the game against Chelsea, let’s not forget that United won the last encounter (3:0), and that Rooney scored one of the 3 goals.
