Believe it or not, but Bayern Munich’s star striker and Germany international Miroslav Klose has not scored a single goal in the Bundesliga or European competition since last March, when he took part in the demolition of Portugal’s Sporting. The dearth of goals could have continued had it not been for the recent goal against Russia and two others in the German Cup, which we left out in compiling FTBL ratings.
The goals against Russia and Azerbaijan helped Klose avoid a complete collapse of his ratings. Coach Luis van Gaal has resorted to not letting him play a full match, and if that continues Klose will be unable to count on full bonuses in the FTBL ranking, victories for Bayern not withstanding. Klose now ranks 72nd on the FTBL list of strikers!
Salvation could be in the fact that Klose’s combined plank to beat in the 4 games to the end of November will amount to just 29.5 rating points. Even with that, we believe his numbers (currently at 111.11 points) will remain below the 120-point mark.
