Villarreal defender Capdevila (pictured) could return in the FTBL Top 23, our list of the world’s top 23 players, if the Spanish side can beat Lazio tonight in their Europa League game without conceding a single goal.
So far, the Spaniards have been less than impressive in the newly minted competition. In addition, they lost 1:2 in the first-leg game in Italy.
Capdevila has an overall FTBL rating of 108.45 points at the moment, and he trails the #6 in the World Top 23 of defenders, Sevilla’s Sebastian Squillaci, by approximately 1 rating point.
Squillaci broke into the Top 23 yesterday after helping Sevilla net a 1:1 draw against Stuttgart in the Champions League. He earned 3.36 rating points in the FTBL system to boost his rating to 109.48 points.
