Real Madrid’s Argentina international Gonzalo Higuaín (pictured) scored one of the goals in the Merengues’ 3:2 win at struggling Atlético Madrid in La Liga yesterday to hold on to a spot in the top 8 of the FTBL world ranking of midfielders.
It was the Argentine’s second productive match in a row; he netted a double on October 31st to hand Real a 2:0 win over visiting Getafe.
Higuaín picked up 6.25 rating points yesterday to take his overall FTBL score to 129.96 points. He is now 8th in the world ranking of midfielders. In our ranking of Argentine midfielders, Higuaín is second only to Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi (168.08 points). We expect him to continue to rise in the rankings, given he will have a combined plank of 9-10 rating points to beat in his next two games.
