Wayne Rooney: Ripe for a Surge?

Manchester United star Wayne Rooney (pictured right) had another miserable night yesterday as the Red Devils fell to bitter rivals Chelsea and the frustration was compounded by an unfortunate yellow card. To make things even worse, he has now dropped to 28th place in the FTBL world ranking of strikers.

Yet, as things stand now, the England international has nowhere else to go but up in the ranking: for one, his combined plank to beat in his next 2 games will amount to just 2.2 rating points, which means he is guaranteed at least 10 rating points even in case the Red Devils draw both matches against Everton and Besiktas J.K. in the Champions League.

Here’s our prediction: Manchester United will win both matches and Rooney add at least 25 rating points to his tally, to 160 points.
