Bosnia Herzegovina are closer than never before in their short history to playing in a major international competition, with now only Portugal standing in their way to the World Cup next year in South Africa: if they can secure qualification, the rewards will be huge, including in the FTBL ranking.
Wolfsburg’s Zvjezdan Misimovic (pictured in the foreground), one of the team’s leaders with an overall FTBL tally of 134.32 points, is 6th in our world ranking of midfielders at the moment, while the best in the German Bundesliga.
Misimovic could climb even further up the world ranking (to the top 3) given he will face a plank of just 6 rating points to beat in each of the 2 games against Portugal, coupled with the fact that Barcelona’s Xabi (143.45 points) and Chelsea’s Michael Ballack (145.32 points) will not play FTBL-indexed games this weekend. But that will happen only if the Bosnians win both games.
