Everton’s Russian international Diniyar Bilyaletdinov (pictured) helped Russia to a 2:1 home win over Slovenia in the first leg of their World Cup 2010 playoff yesterday with a fantastic double, amply justifying the confidence coach Guus Hiddink had put in him and boosting his overall FTBL rating by more than 25 rating points, to 72.81 points, to become # 4 in our ranking of Russian midfielders.
Bilyaletdinov is now closer than never to returning to his best FTBL score so far, which has hovered at around 73 points.
In the FTBL ranking of Russian midfielders, Bilyaletdinov now trails only Zenit’s Konstantin Zyryanov (94.36 points); Rubin Kazan’s Sergey Semak (80.66 points); and another Zenit player, Igor Denisov (73.48 points).
