As Portugal narrowly beat Bosnia Herzegovina (1:0) in the first leg of their World Cup 2010 playoff at home yesterday, Real Madrid’s Portuguese international Pepe (pictured in a red shirt) earned enough points in the FTBL system to join the top 3 of our ranking of defenders in the Spanish La Liga.
Pepe reaped a reward of 20 rating points for helping the Portugal goalkeeper keep his slate clean in the entire game. He now has an overall FTBL tally of 103.47 points.
In the FTBL world ranking of defenders, Pepe now ranks 11th; he is 3rd in our ranking of defenders in La Liga; while now the second-best Portuguese defender.
