Lille’s Cote d’Ivoire international Yao Kouassi Gervinho (pictured left) had a double as the Elephants trashed Guinea 3:0 to qualify for the next World Cup finals in South Africa, while Valenciennes’ Siaka Tiene (in center) added the 3rd. Both players earned solid rewards in the FTBL system to enter the Top 23, our list of the African continent’s top 23 players.
Gervinho, who reaped a whopping 23.25 rating points pushed his FTBL score to 124.67 points to make his debut in the Top 23, while Siaka Tiene added some 20 points to take his tally to 94.33 points.
Gervinho is now 2nd in our ranking of Code d’Ivoire strikers, while Siaka Tiene is also 2nd among midfielders.
