Lokomotiv Moscow’s Russian international Dmitri Sychev (pictured left) has a chance of rising to the top if the FTBL ranking of strikers in the Russian Premier League if he can secure more time on the pitch than what he had in game 1 when Russia take on Slovenia in game 2 of their World Cup playoff on November 18.
Sychev has been impressive in these last rounds of the Russian Premier League, adding 15 rating points to his FTBL score in a few games. He came off the bench at the 80th minute to substitute Tottenham Hotspur’s Roman Pavlyuchenko in Russia’s attack in game 1 and managed only to collect a yellow card and drop 0.29 rating points in the FTBL system.
But with a tally of 80.97 points at the moment, Sychev is firmly among the top forwards in the Russian league presently. If he can convince coach Guus Hiddink and is given more action, he has a chance of even grabbing the top spot in the ranking: he will go into the game with a plank of less than 1 rating points to beat, and if Russia win and he scores, the top spot in the ranking will be his. He trails the leader, Spartak Moscow’s Brazilian Welliton (99.47 points), by approximately 19 rating points.
