Burnley’s Graham Alexander (pictured) has climbed up the FTBL ranking of Scottish defenders to claim the 5th spot, positioning himself to challenge such rivals as Celtic’s Gary Caldwell.

As modest Burnley managed to hold on check ambitious Manchester City on the road (3:3), Alexander earned 15 rating points in the FTBL system to boost his overall score to 45.6 points.

Alas, Alexander is more likely than not to incur losses in his next game, given he will face a high plank of 10 rating points to beat. In the 2 games to follow, though, he will be guaranteed bonuses of 3 and 4 rating points. That should allow him to increase pressure on Caldwell, who has a tally of 46.22 points at the moment.
