Olympique Lyon’s France international Hugo Lloris added approximately 20 rating points in the FTBL system following France’s 1:0 win over Ireland in game 1 of their World Cup 2010 playoff last weekend to capture the 4th spot in the FTBL world ranking of goalkeepers with 99.21 points. Can he capture the top spot after the return leg?
The answer here is probably not. Even if France were to win without conceding a goal, the 107-point mark will still remain out of reach for Lloris. Real Madrid’s Iker Casillas, the #3 in the world ranking, has a tally of 107.63 points.
But the eventuality of Lloris saving a penalty (unlikely as it might be) cannot be dismissed out of hand. Lloris did just that on October 3 in the French Ligue 1 game against RC Lens. What if he repeats the feat?
