The top 3 of the FTBL world ranking of midfielders underwent changes after Wednesday’s group stage matches in the Champions League as Argentina international Gonzalo Higuaín joined the group after scoring the only goal in Real Madrid’s narrow home win over modest Swiss side FC Zürich (1:0).
Higuaín’s goal came in the 21st minute after a brilliant pass from Brazilian star Kaká. The Argentina international has been impressive lately for club and country: he has scored 7 goals in his last 8 games, helping Real Madrid achieve 5 victories and Argentina 1.
Higuaín picked up 15.62 rating points in the FTBL system to boost his tally to 157.58 points and take the 3rd spot in the world ranking from Arsenal’s Spain international Cesc Fàbregas (157.39 points).
