Bordeaux’s Moroccan forward Marouane Chamakh contributed a goal in the Girondins’s 2:0 home win over Juventus in the Champions League group stage yesterday to move closer to a return in the top tier of the FTBL ranking of French Ligue 1 forwards.

The win ensured qualification to the knockout stage of the competition for the French, while Marouane, who is Bordeaux’s top striker at the moment but had exited the top 6 of our ranking of Ligue 1 forwards, has now increased his chances of returning to the top of the chart.

The opener in the game came from Fernando Menegazzo as he had the best of Buffon after a cross into the area.

Chamakh’s goal was almost identical and it came in injury time. It earned him more than 21 rating points in the FTBL system to boost his overall score to 119.34 points.
