Ivica Olic’ s only goal in Bayern Munich’s narrow home win over Maccabi Haifa in the Champions League yesterday may (or may not) have prolonged Luis Van Gaal’s stay as coach at the German club, but for Olic it certainly could mark an excellent beginning for a surge in the FTBL rankings.
Before yesterday’s game, Olic had been mostly confined to the bench, and as a consequence he will have little to “defend” in the coming few games; his combined plank to beat in his next 4 games will amount to just 6.11 rating points, less than 2 rating points per game.
If Bayern can win at least two of those games, Olic’s FTBL score will swell from its current 103.06 points to around 140-150 points. But this can happen only if coach Van Gaal (or his successor) allows the Croatian to play.
