Chelsea’s stars Didier Drogba (pictured right) and Nicolas Anelka (left) are going into today’s Premier League clash with Arsenal in very different positions relative to the FTBL ranking.
The Cote d’Ivoire striker, who is one of the best in the world at the moment in the FTBL ranking, is going in with a daunting plank of 30 rating points to beat. He set the plank by scoring the fifth goal in the Blues’ 5:0 clobbering of Blackburn Rovers in league action recently.
If Drogba, who has a score of 195.28 points at the moment, wants to avoid exit from the FTBL World Top 23, the Blues must win, while he must score at least one goal. That will allow him to reduce the gap with the world's No 1 player at the moment, Valencia’s David Villa.
France international Nicolas Anelka, on the other hand, has a better chance of advancing, albeit on paper: with a score of 184.52 points at the moment, he will go into the game with a plank of 12.88 rating points to beat. He set the plank in the 1:0 win over Manchester United. Anelka will exit the World Top 23 only if the Blues lose tonight.
