In what should be one of the most exciting Europa League games this evening, Spanish side Valencia will host French side Lille, with prolific striker and the world’s top player in the FTBL ranking David Villa (pictured right) looking to consolidate his position.

Villa will have a plank of more than 25 rating points to overcome tonight. He set the plank in the 3:0 win over UD Almería in La Liga with a goal. The problem is that the Europa League is ranked lower at this particular stage of the competition than the Spanish top league, which means that even if Valencia win and Villa scores that might still prove not enough for him to avoid a loss of points in our system. But since his main rivals will rest tonight, Villa retains a good chance of remaining at the top of the world ranking.
