Arsenal’s Russian international Andrei Arshavin (pictured in the # 23 shirt) would have gone into the Premier League game that was scheduled today against Bolton Wanderers with an FTBL score that has shrunk by 40 points in the past 2 weeks alone, but the game has been postponed until January 2010.
Arshavin began falling after Russia failed to qualify for the World Cup finals in South Africa and continued with 3 unconvincing games for Arsenal, among them losses to Sunderland (0:1) and Chelsea (0:3). He dropped 18 rating points in the game against Chelsea alone.
In the game against Stoke City, Arshavin will face a plank of 16.01 rating points to beat, and if he wants to avoid dropping further he will have to score, which he has not done in 5 straight games. Any other result, even a win for the Gunners, will still result in a loss of points.
With an overall score of 117.61 points at the moment, Arshavin nonetheless remains the highest ranked Russian player.
