Athletic Bilbao’s Fernando Llorente briefly held the unofficial title of best Basque player, before being toppled by Mallorca’s Aritz Aduriz after yesterday’s games in La Liga.
The San-Sebastian native scored the first 2 goals against Real Zaragoza to lift Mallorca to a 4:1 crushing of their opponents. He was rewarded with 28.49 rating points in the FTBL system and rose to 4th place in our ranking of Spanish forwards.
Yet Aduriz will still be hard-pressed to advance further in the ranking in the coming game: though he will face a plank of just 3 rating points to beat, the game will be against Osasuna at home, where Mallorca have not won a game in recent times. Further down the road Aduriz will face a plank of 28.84 rating points, a result of the win over Getafe, in which he also scored twice.
