With two goals in Real Madrid’s win over French side Olympique Marseille yesterday in the Champions League, Cristiano Ronaldo beat the plank of approximately 30 rating points he had in the game and even managed to add to his overall FTBL score.
The “small” (3.57 rating points) gain was enough to lift the Portuguese star to 5th place in the FTBL ranking of forwards in La Liga but, more importantly, Ronaldo’s display last night is reason enough to predict a dramatic rise in the rankings down the road.
In the next 4 games the Portugal international will “defend” just 23.52 rating points in the FTBL system. His red card and suspension after the La Liga game against UD Almería might even come to serve some purpose; he will have to sit out the potentially difficult league game against No. 3 Valencia. By our estimates, Ronaldo could pick up approximately 100 rating points in our system in these 4 games, and by mid-January he could hit 200-230 points.
