In the French Ligue 1, forward André-Pierre Gignac (second from left) scored twice to help Toulouse FC to a 2:0 home win over struggling FC Souchaux-Montbeliard and increase his FTBL score by 16 rating points. He is now back among the top forwards in the league and # 3 in the FTBL ranking of French forwards with 129.93 points, ahead of Real Madrid star Karim Benzema (127.62 points) and behind only Barcelona’s Thierry Henry (147.31 points) and Chelsea’s Nicolas Anelka (169.54 points).
Gignac is also 3rd in our ranking of forwards in the Ligue 1, behind Lille’s Code d’Ivoire international Gervinho (136.35 points) and Olympique Marseille’s Polish striker Ireneusz Jelen (141.52 points). Back in October Gignac hit a career-high 160 points in our system and was at the top of the ranking in the Ligue 1. He could return to that former level as early as after his next game: he will face a plank of just 3.42 rating points to beat.
The following game will offer another opportunity for a further rise; Gignac will go in with a guaranteed bonus of 0.5 rating points.
