Three straight games without conceding a single goal have allowed Aston Villa’s U.S. goalkeeper Brad Friedel to soar in the FTBL rankings.
Friedel, with a score of 91.59 points, is now the highest rated U.S. player irrespective of position, he has broken into the FTBL Top 23 of the English Premier League, and is now threatening the leader in our ranking of goalkeepers over 35 years of age.
The current leader among veteran goalkeepers is Sevilla’s Palop with a score of 94.71 points. But Palop will face a plank 5 rating points higher than Friedel’s in his next game against No. 9 Getafe (La Liga), to whom Sevilla lost 0:1 in their last matchup. A draw will be enough for Friedel in the home game against No. 10 Stoke City (EPL) to capture the top spot.
