No.2 Lille left no chance to No.12 Nancy yesterday in the French Ligue 1 as they trounced them 4:0 in the last round of this year. Lille midfielder Mathieu Debuchy (left) scored the biggest gain of the day in the FTBL system, approximately 20 rating points, to break into the Top 23, our list of the French league’s top 23 players.
The addition helped Debuchy push his tally to 114.27 points and claim the 18th spot in the FTBL world ranking of midfielders. Debuchy’s progress in the last 3 months has been simply phenomenal: just last September, he was in the range of 43 points in our system.
Lille, who are engaged in a spirited pursuit of No.1 Bordeaux, now have 7 players in the Top 23 of the Ligue 1. Yes, only Bordeaux have more: 10.
