Despite failing to qualify with Costa Rica to the next World Cup in South Africa, FC Twente striker Bryan Ruiz (right) is ending the year as the highest rated player in the CONCACAF in the FTBL system.
Ruiz has an eye-popping 30 points lead over the second-highest ranked player, Borussia Monchengladbach’s Canadian Rob Friend, who will also miss the World Cup.
Ruiz’s most productive game of the year was against struggling NEC this December; he scored the winner in the 88th minute in the 4:3 victory and earned 23.18 rating points in the FTBL system.
