Aston Villa’s U.S. goalkeeper Brad Friedel captured the lead in the FTBL ranking of keepers in the English Premier League after Chelsea’s Petr Cech dropped 3.5 points in the goalless draw against Wolverhampton Wanderers yesterday in league action.
Friedel now sits at the top with an overall FTBL score of 100.79 points, while Cech has 100.63 points.
But will Friedel be able to retain the lead after today’s league game against No. 3 Arsenal? He will face a plank of just 4 rating points to beat in the game. A win with the least amount of goals conceded will, of course, keep Friedel at the top, but a draw could also do the trick.
