The star-studded Cote d’Ivoire national team was unable to break the back of minnows Burkina Faso in their opener in the African Nations Cup last Monday (0:0), but midfielder Siaka Tiéné (left) of French side Valenciennes FC still managed to post a gain in the FTBL system, albeit a modest one.
Tiéné picked up 4.80 points in the game, which added to the 8 points he dropped in the 0:4 loss to in-form Lille in French Ligue 1 action. He now has a tally of 58.11 points, which puts him in 5th place in the FTBL ranking of Cote d’Ivoire midfielders.
Another winner in the FTBL system was Manchester City’s Kolo Touré. He boosted his tally to 84.06 points and is 2nd in our ranking of Ivory Coast defenders.
