Mali failed to qualify for the 1/4 finals in the African Nations Cup despite the many stars in the squad. Barcelona midfielder Seydou Keita, the highest ranked Malian player in the FTBL system, fell short of 100 points.

Keita (left) scored one of the goals in the 3:1 win over Malawi, picked up 7.43 rating points in the FTBL system, but still missed the 100-point mark; he has a score of 97.27 points.

The opening game in the competition against Algeria, which the Malians lost 0:1, turned out to be the decisive factor. Algeria go through.
