Benfica’s Argentina international Javier Saviola appears unstoppable. In the league game against C.S. Marítimo, he extended his goal-scoring run to 6 straight games, as Benfica trounced their opponents 5:0.
In the game against Marítimo, Saviola picked up 30.93 points in the FTBL system, his career high so far. He has now grabbed the top spot in our ranking of forwards in Portugal’s top league, while he has also carved out a place for himself among the Top 23 Argentine players.
In their next game Benfica will travel to Rio Ave FC, a difficult opponent for the leaders; they have not managed to score more than one goal in the last 4 games against Rio. Saviola is unlikely to beat the high plank of 15.56 points he will face in the game unless he scores again. In the meantime, the No.2 in the ranking of forwards in the league, F.C.
