Cagliari’s Federico Marchetti added 19.1 rating points to his tally after the goalless win over Livorno to claim the 2nd place in the FTBL ranking of keepers in the Italian Serie A. Does he have a chance at the top spot?
Not in the next game on the road against Siena, in which he will face a daunting plank of 14.6 rating points to beat in our system, while the current leader in the ranking, Napoli’s Morgan De Sanctis, will face a plank of just 2 points in the game against Livorno. Marchetti trails the leader by 2.93 points at the moment.
But he might be lucky in the next two games, when he will face a combined plank of just 6 points to beat, while De Sanctis will have to “defend” two goalless wins. If Cagliari manage to extend their run of victories, Marchetti will have a realistic chance of grabbing the leadership in the ranking before the end of January, after the game against Fiorentina in the last Sunday of the month.
