England international Wayne Rooney ripped apart Hull City yesterday in the English Premier by scoring all 4 goals in the encounter (4:0). The result was a return of Manchester United to the top of the table and a ballooning of Rooney’s FTBL score to 251.26 points, the highest of any striker in the world at the moment.
Rooney, who faced a plank of just 1 point to beat in the FTBL system (a result of the 0:3 loss to Fulham) in the game, picked up approximately 50 rating points.
The England international is now slowly approaching again the peak of 290 points he hit in the FTBL system in October 2008. Back then, he scored 9 goals in a goalscoring run that stretched 7 straight games. He added approximately 150 points in a little over a month.
In the next 2 games Rooney will face a combined plank of approximately 53 rating points to beat, and advancing further would be hard. But if he extends his scoring run, then he will be on course to challenge the current absolute leader in our rankings, Barcelona’s Lionel Messi (340.86 points).
