Manchester United’s Edwin van der Sar returned to the top of the FTBL ranking of veteran goalkeepers after the 4:0 win over Hull City yesterday in the English Premier League. But that could be just the start; the Dutch international is well poised to return into the top tier of the world ranking.
In the next 2 games, van der Sar will have to “defend” just 3 points in the FTBL system, which means if United win just one of those games, the 39-year-old goalkeeper could hit 120-125 points, ensuring a place in the highest echelon of the world ranking.
The first opponent will be No. 3 Arsenal. United have won 5 of the last 7 games between the two. The next opponent will be bottom-placed Portsmouth.
