Napoli’s Christian Maggio (right) scored one of the goals in yesterday’s 2:0 win at No. 16 Livorno to claim the top spot in the FTBL ranking of Italian defenders.

Maggio grabbed the opener right before half-time to pick up 22.85 points in the FTBL system and move past now former leader Mattia Cassani (89.41 points) of Palermo. He now has a score of 102.23 points.

Maggio is the only Italian-born in the top 6 of our ranking of defenders in the Serie A. He is in 5th position in that ranking. In the world ranking, he is 24th.
