It took Sevilla goalkeeper Palop just 2 weeks to extract himself from the hole he fell into in the FTBL ranking; he added 40 points in the interval.
Palop’s FTBL score dropped below 50 points on January 16 after Sevilla’s 4th straight loss. But the Andalusia side began redressing the bar from January 20, lining up 4 straight wins, in which they conceded just 1 goal. Palop’s score rebounded as a result, to 91.88 points. He is now back among the top 3 veteran goalkeepers.
Sevilla will travel to relegation-threatened Real Zaragoza next Sunday. Of their last 6 games there, Sevilla won just one. Yet even a loss could still boost Palop’s score; his plank to beat will be a negative -5 points. A draw is almost certain to take him beyond 100 points.
