None of Chelsea’s players made it into the list of the 23 best world football players, according to the FTBL rating of the world’s best players as of February 10, 2009.

Clearly, a crisis is brewing at Chelsea. Chelsea defender John Terry is not even among the best English defenders or in that of Premier League players. Facts speak for themselves: the most respected English player scores only 77.42 points on the FTBL rating.

Frank Lampard (pictured) is the best among the Blues, with 126.67 points, but he is the only Chelsea player who made it into the list of best midfielders of the Premier League. He lost 12.22 in the last game. The rating he had to beat in that game was obviously too high, more than 20 points. He was able to earn only 6 points. His rating could nonetheless substantially increase in the next round of the Premier League.

Forwards Solomon Kalu and Nicolas Anelka have quite good ratings. The Cote d’Ivoire striker has 123.96 points, the highest rating among his compatriots. He will not need a huge score in the upcoming game; just more than 3.14 points. Anelka has a rating of 118.40 points. He will need to earn more than 0.40 points, which does not look like too much of a challenge.
