Real Madrid striker Klass Jan Huntelaar grabbed the number one spot in the rating of world best forwards after his two goals against Athletic Bilbao in La Liga.
The two goals brought the Galacticos a comfortable 5:1 victory and earned the Dutch international 30.86 points. This latest performance will replace in the striker’s Last-5 performances the game against Numancia, in which Huntelaar earned just 1.63 points. Huntelaar’s rating has now shot up by 30 points, to 197.14.
Huntelaar could not have grabbed the leadership if it had not been for the poor showing of his main competitors.
German international and Bayern Munich striker Miroslav Klose played only 30 minutes in the game against Bochum and earned almost no rating points despite his side’s trouncing of Bochum. The game replaced in his Last-5 the victory over Sporting Lisbon by 5:0, which brought the forward more than 30 rating points.
The same happened to Wayne Rooney; the heavy loss against Liverpool replaced for Rooney the game in which he earned 27.90 rating points.
Huntelaar will find it hard to hold on to his newfound glory for a substantial while, given the fact that he has earned 123 rating points in his last five games alone! Maintaining such a form will not be an easy feat.
